1) Qu’est-ce que l’ACARS ?
ACARS (Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System) est un système numérique de transmission des données entre un avion et le sol.
Son objectif initial était de permettre l’automatisation de la transmission des messages de routine sous une forme permettant le traitement informatique.
L’ACARS fait donc appel, pour une large part, aux applications informatiques propres aux compagnies.
Actuellement les domaines essentiellement visés concernent :
- Les opérations aériennes :
* Informations météo envoyées à l’avion sur une demande de l’équipage ou automatiquement en fonction du plan de vol entré dans le FMS (terrains de destination, dégagement…) ;
* Régulation de l’exploitation : transmission automatique des heures de départ, décollage, atterrissage, arrivée ;
* Paramètres opérationnels : envoi à l’avion du plan de vol, de l’état de charge, des limitations…
* Gestion du personnel navigant ;
* Informations opérationnelles : NOTAMS, infrastructure…
* Suivi du vol par le dispatch, notamment pour les vols ETOPS ;
* Échange de messages télégraphiques « free text » entre le sol et l’avion.
- La maintenance :
* Monitoring moteur ;
* Surveillance d’équipements à la demande ;
* Suivi des pannes.
- Le commercial :
* Passagers en correspondance ;
* Problèmes de bagages…
- Le contrôle aérien :
* Clairance de départ « PDC » ;
* Clairance océanique ;
* ATIS.
2) Les Fréquences :
Les fréquences utilisées sont :
- soit VHF ou HF, pour les liaisons directes avec une station au sol.
- soit SHF pour les liaisons par satellite (bande 1,5-1,6 Ghz pour la liaison avion-satellite, bande 4- 6 Ghz pour la liaison satellite-sol).
Détails pour les bandes SHF:
- Mode-S : 1 090 Mhz (A vérifier)
- Mode ADS-B : 1 130 Mhz (A vérifier)
- HFDL : 2.8 Ghz (A vérifier)
Ces modes semblent être les plus intéressants car ils permettent la réception des données de vol de l’avion (cap, vitesse, altitude, position Gps, etc…) mais nécessitent un matériel d’analyse spécifique les signaux ne pouvant à priori pas être traité par la carte son d’un pc (sauf peut être pour le mode HFDL) à cause d’un problème d’échantillonnage. Il existe des solutions commerciales (SBS1, RadarBox, etc…)
